Official Rules

Chromatic Color Photography Awards competition is open to professional and amateur photographers, using all forms of color photography, from any country. By registering and entering the Chromatic Photography Awards you hereby accept the rules and conditions outlined below.

Anyone over 18 years of age can enter the competition with the exception of employees of the Chromatic Awards, their associated companies and employees of any company chosen to sponsor prizes for the competition. Judges are not permitted to enter into the competition.

By entering the Competition, you agree and acknowledge that the Chromatic Awards is permitted to receive your registration data.

Chromatic Awards may publish any material you submit, post, upload, email or otherwise transmit to it or to the website at its sole discretion and it shall be entitled to make additions or deletions to any such material prior to publication.

Any image submitted to the competition may be used by the Chromatic Awards, and its media partners, for marketing and promotional purposes of the competition only. You hereby grant the Chromatic Awards a non-exclusive, irrevocable license in each Entry throughout the world in all media for any use in connection with the competition.

All awarded Entries will be published online on chromaticawards.com

General Conditions

Only color photographs will be accepted to the contest. Black and white images (including toned images) will be disqualified. Images may be captured using film or digital.

Entry must be submitted online at the following website: www.chromaticawards.com following the on-screen instructions carefully. Prints are not accepted. There is no limit to the number of individual images each artist may submit.

Images that have won prizes in other competitions or that have been submitted in other competitions currently underway are eligible. There is no time or date restriction on when the image was taken.

You may submit your photo in as many categories as you wish. Once the submission fee is paid, there is no possibility to edit your entry.

Files must meet the following specifications
– awards are open to color photography only
– sRGB or Adobe98 colour space, 8-bit
– longest dimension must be 1200 pixels
– saved as a JPEG at a maximum quality
– no watermarks, borders* or signatures on your images

* except Polaroids and other traditional process photos where border is inherent part of the image.

Winning Entrants must be able to provide a high resolution digital file (minimum 2500px wide, 300dpi). This file will be used only to prove the ownership of the image. Winning Entrants who do not fulfill these eligibility criteria will be deemed ineligible and disqualified without the right to appeal.

All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrant must be the sole copyright owner of all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries (or their parents/guardians if children under 16 are featured). Further, the entrant must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.

Winners' names and images will be published online.

Copyrights & Usage Rights

Copyright of the images will remain at all times with the photographer.

For awarded images, copyright holders grant the Chromatic Awards unlimited non-exclusive use of high-resolution images for activities in all media, including social media, online and print, in relation to the contest and all promotional activities without any remuneration being due.

Copyright holders of all awarded images grant the Chromatic Awards non-exclusive use of low-resolution pictures on our website, without any remuneration being due.

Images will be used strictly in connection to the awards and will not be used for any other marketing purposes other than to promote the contest and Winners. Images will not be resold or used by any other third party. If there is a request for such, we will forward that request to the photographer via e-mail.

To promote winners of the Chromatic Awards is granted the right to display images on social network websites (on our official profiles) including: Facebook and Instagram.

You agree to participate in related publicity and to the use of your name and images for the purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity in connection with the competition without additional compensation.

Chromatic Awards and its media partners assume no responsibility and are not liable for any image misuse by external third parties.

Any photograph used by the Chromatic Awards shall carry a credit line.

Prizes

The winner among the professionals will receive $2,000 and the winner of the amateur category will get $1,000. Cash prizes will be paid in USD by PayPal. Any fees incurred for foreign currency transfers will be deducted from the winning amount. There are no alternatives available for prize winners.

Winning Entrants must be able to provide a high resolution digital file (minimum 2500px wide, 300dpi) to be included in Chromatic Photography Awards Annual Book. Only files sent on time that meet the requirements for printing will be published. Please note: if you have not been asked for high resolution file, your photo will not be included in the book.

Judging Conditions

Entries will be judged by nominated judges. Images will be judged on artistic merit, originality, subject and style. The decision of Chromatic Awards is final.
