This is a composite of two photos taken the same day in Sonoma County, California. The core of the Milky Way was taken using a 50 mm lens, a canon 70D, a sky tracker, and a tripod. I used a high ISO and a long exposure to take multiple frames that were then stacked in Photoshop. The tree was taken using my 18-55 mm lens and then edited with Photoshop. Watching the Milky Way with your own eyes is a treat and I was able to find really good dark skies near the Robert Ferguson Observatory in Sonoma County. I really enjoyed taking these photos and putting them together.
