Honorable Mention
Clouds over the Sahara
DESCRIPTION
Clouds over the vast and seemingly infinite Sahara. The red/orange glow of the enormous sand dunes and plains shines through the clouds every now and then, just to show off the contrast between the extreme drought down below, and the vast amount of water up in the sky above. For hours on end. AUTHOR
Born in The Netherlands in 1983, I wanted to become a pilot from a young age on. At the age of 20, I found my first job on the Fokker 50 turboprop where I flew under various contracts in local operations in Africa and Afghanistan. At the age of 23 I started on the Boeing 737 and at the age of 28 I joined my present airline on the Boeing 747 Freighter where I fly now for over 6 years.
Operating in a global network with countless of destinations, I find joy in capturing the beauty and the world from above with my camera. A great admirer of natural light, I have the best office and views in the world from 35.000ft, being able to capture everything I see. The global network also gives me the chance to visit many cities in the world and I find more and more joy in capturing the moods and atmospheres I find in every corner of this planet as well.
