Beyond the impromptu green room by steps leading to a platform in a rural town, artists apply final touches before ascending the steps to retell over nine nights an ancient epic, Ramayana.No Indian is a stranger to the epic yet, over nine nights, villagers gather in the open to watch and listen once again the wisdom for the ages.
In the colours they don resides a certain lightness of being, and in the retelling of the epic they also seek to hold a mirror to the society.
