DESCRIPTION
Chromogenic print of ship hull detail in the San Francisco Bay AUTHOR
My recent project and images are from workdays on the San Francisco Bay, where I work on a tugboat, pushing and pulling container ships, barges, and tankers-the largest things on earth that move. These behemoths bring in virtually all of our stuff, from cars to oil products to containers crammed full of tennis shoes. The massive global scale of the shipping industry affects us all, and I work in the belly of that particular beast. But when I'm out on the water, I seek out images on the hulls of these seagoing hulks that conjure the natural world; the sea, fish, birds, mountains, deserts, and more.
