DESCRIPTION
The glass and concrete façade of the new Fairmont Hotel in Austin, Texas, serves as the basis for this image. As the last rays of the day cast the outside of the building in blue, the lights in the hotel rooms provide a soft glow and contrasting illumination.
The strong converging lines of the building structure have an endpoint many floors below. This dramatic, sharp drop is the visual opposite of the soft colors.
