DESCRIPTION
An aerial image I captured of the neighbourhood of Barceloneta in Barcelona. I focused on the beauty, the symmetry and the curiosity of scenes of every day life. An every day location that one may walk by and take for granted, it becomes remarkable when viewed from an alternate perspective. Aerial perspectives show how the architecture and city planning influences the livability and experience of urban living. AUTHOR
Richard Vandegriend is a self-taught Vancouver based photographer whose passion is landscape, street and fine-art photography. Believing that composition and timing are critical to a great image, compositional elements are not altered in post-processing. Instead care and patience are exercised to ensure the image was captured perfectly in camera. As landscape photography is so dependent on lighting and weather conditions, more often than not, great images are discovered rather than planned. One must give themselves the time and opportunity to discover these images.
