DESCRIPTION
Half Court - Full Court is created using in-camera multiple exposure photography. This series presents the viewer with the experience of standing at center court and looking at both basketball hoops simultaneously. Each basketball court is unique, creating a portfolio of images that highlights the remarkable diversity of settings for a game that unifies people worldwide.

.... Philosophically I agree with Erich Fromm when he states that, "living itself is an art - in fact, the most important and at the same time the most difficult and complex art to be practiced by man." That, "its object is not this or that specialized performance, but the performance of living, the process of developing into that which one is potentially." And that, "in the art of living, man is both artist and the object of his art"...

Bob Schwanfelder wrote this in a letter to Mr. Thomas Armstrong, Director of the Whitney Museum of American Art - 1975

Quoted from Robert Francis Schwanfelder: A book dedicated to the life and artwork of Robert 'Bob' Schwanfelder, by Craig Schwanfelder (2011)
