Marlin – the metaphor of Cuba
DESCRIPTION
Cuba is maintaining its tradition and its essence, but something seems to be transformed. The idea at the basis of this ongoing 2-years work is to observe how Cuba is reacting to its historical step. The metaphor is born reading the book “The Old man and the Sea” by Hemingway, in which a character, Marlin, seems to represent my personal interpretation of Cuba, that is “fighting” with America and more in general with the progress, reacting and contrasting what seem to be the destiny to be realized. AUTHOR
My name is Marino Da Costa and I am an Italian non-professional photographer. I always realize my works independently, just following my personal interests and my passions. For two years I have carried out a personal project on Cuba that I thought from the beginning as a photographic book and I hope it will be realized. I thought that LensCulture could be a good opportunity to receive constructive criticism of my project.
