Sunset - Kerry Park - Seattle, WA, USA
DESCRIPTION
Considered to be one of the best views of Downtown Seattle, Kerry Park is a must on the list of those visiting Seattle as well as local Seattelites.

How to get here:

Google maps will take you right to the best location, however, I would highly recommend taking an UBER, LYFT, or Taxi to this location as parking is extremely limited. It cost me around $5 to take a shared UBER from Downtown Seattle to this location ( about $15 dollars round trip w/ tip included).

Address:

211 W Highland Dr, Seattle, WA 98119

Best time for photography:

Sunset is primetime for this location. The blue hour is also a great time to keep photographing as the cities lights come alive. The Winter Months would be the absolute best time for this location because the businesses will still be open at sunset (meaning more lights would be on in the buildings), however, clear days in the winter are far and few between. The shot below was taken in early June.

Recommendations:

I feel my best shot was taken in the 100-120mm focal length range, producing a relatively large representation of Mt. Rainer in the background. I would also recommend a wide angle lens to fit Downtown Seattle in its entirety. Make sure your tripod is not touching the fence, as the movement from other people will transfer into your camera. I shot this composition in HDR, however I ended up using only the normally exposed photograph because after blending, my images were a little soft at this focal length.
