Cairo the desert
DESCRIPTION
The desert in my photo was captured from a digital billboard set on top the dusty cityscape playing video advertisements on loop. The glowing screen against the growing dusk presents a stark contrast in colour and between the real and man-made. It holds an inverted reality where Cairo was built up from desert to city. My curiosity towards this moment lies in the surrealness of an everyday moment and the compression of time and history of a place.
