DESCRIPTION
Apex predators produce fear in us, since they are misunderstood. The picture represents fear and fascination, while taken snorkeling without cage or danger with this beautiful American Crocodile. Respect and conservation of nature and animals is human obligation to the earth we share; even and especially if we are scared by them. Can you behold yourself in a mirror?

The image was taken in 2018 in Cuba while snorkeling with the Amercian saltwater crocodiles. With the right angle and lightning the crocodile gets nearly completely mirrored on the water surface from below the surface. The challenging part was to get a flat surface in the ocean, which was working out. The only waves seen are produced by the swimming movement of the crocodile itself.
