Honorable Mention
Venetian Life
DESCRIPTION
A 20th century Venetian family in the 17th century Palazzo Barbarigo on the Grand Canal. Its front facade is decorated with colorful mosaics of Murano glass. A woman applies make up before an evening out, perhaps to take in an opera at Musica a Palazzo. A bored tossle-haired boy looks down upon a series of thirty-five cherubs. A mosaic of Tintoretto looks toward the Rialto bridge. A cat sleeps on the window sill next to fresh yellow nasturtiums. The opulence is completed by the meeting of King Charles V and Titian in the master's workshop.I have always been fascinated by fine art photography. After finishing high school, and working in a photography studio my plan was to study photography, formally. Instead, I studied law, built my own law firm and practiced law for many years. But, photography always played a role in the background. In 2018, I decided to live this dream and took on a fine photography mentor and started to study, privately, in Atlanta. I am still learning and have won five photography awards and published seven photography books.
A high level of detail and well-balanced composition distinguishes my photography.
Sources of inspiration are Edward Weston, Peter Beard, Steve Mc Curry, Albert Watson, Michael James O’Brien, and Zoltan Gerlizcki.
