DESCRIPTION
When I photograph a dancer, I always try to capture the moment before his body reaches the final pose. For me it's the essence of dance, of movement, of concentration. It's the energy and strength or it's gentle awakening that I can capture - the impulse. AUTHOR
I'm a self taught photographer from Saint-Petersburg. Artist and dancer in the past. I like to explore world around me through different visual forms. I started photography as a hobby when I was seven. For a long time I was fond of documentary photography and I still do. My other field is creating staged photography. Mostly my works are hand made from the scratch. I create set designs and costumes as well. My works are about subconscious, shadows, symbols. I explore my own feelings about very personal things. Sometimes it's just a glimpse of impression that I get from my subject. I try to visualize it. As a dancer I love expression of body movement and my models are often dancers.
