Fragile
DESCRIPTION
When the day was about to be gone, I came across this young Araucaria (about 300 yrs old), staring the sunset. I couldn't resist sneaking down to capture her moment. She's been there so many sunsets doing this, but this one was particularly delicate, the subtle tones in the sky made her look peaceful and fragile at the same time. These kind of trees are quite unique, they only live in a narrow band of the Southern Andes Mountains, and they are currently suffering from a disease that might be related to the changing climate. AUTHOR
Benjamin Briones Grandi is a Chilean fine-art photographer. Initially, Benjamin started doing classical landscape photography, but in time developed a rather conceptual work producing minimalistic atmospheric landscapes. The subject matter of his work is not the territory photographed, nor what it felt being in those places. The real subject matter is the person looking at the resulting image, it is about the viewer that uses the landscape as a stage where thoughts, memories and feelings can be laid out.
