Sunset Over a Sandbox
DESCRIPTION
We are an artistic couple whose work explores the connection between painting, sculpture, and photography. We use plywood and paint to construct sets for each of our shoots that are filled with whimsy, bold colors, and optical illusions. We enjoy creating situations for our models that blur the line between reality and dream world. Our shoots are about exploring what the world is like with your eyes closed while shining lights on emotions of frustration, confusion, and exhaustion created by our human experience. For this shoot, we built a sandbox in our studio and painted an abstract sunset scene using a 70s color palette.

We are an artistic couple whose work explores the connection between painting, sculpture, and photography. We use plywood and paint to construct sets for each of our shoots that are filled with whimsy, bold colors, and optical illusions. Our work is really a marriage of our separate backgrounds of fine art photography and theater/set design that we have been able to mold into a unique form. We enjoy creating situations for our models that blur the line between reality and dream world. Our shoots are about exploring what the world is like with your eyes closed while shining lights on emotions of frustration, confusion, and exhaustion created by our human experience.
