Honorable Mention
Fantasy layer
DESCRIPTION
I photograph wild Indian ocean bottlenose dolphins in Mikuraisland, Tokyo, Japan. After rain, the surface of the sea becomes muddy and visibility becomes poor.
However, if you dive a little deeper, a beautiful layer of water may appear.
When the sun shines through the muddy water layer, the streaks of light become clearer than usual, and it is very beautiful.
Dolphins were swimming around the boundary where you could see such a beautiful light gradation, and it was very fantastic.
In this area, both scuba diving and strobe use are prohibited for the protection of wildlife, so I took pictures using sunlight during skin diving.
AUTHOR
I was fascinated by the underwater world and wanted to capture that excitement, so I started photography. In recent years, I have been interested in bottlenose dolphins and have been visiting them frequently.
Wild dolphins are very beautiful and full of curiosity, showing various ecological behaviors.
I would be happy if I could convey the various daily lives of dolphins through my photographs.
