Honorable Mention
Juvenile Pelican
DESCRIPTION
Juvenile Dalmatian Pelicans are not as flamboyant as their parents. To me, their beauty is in their textures. The glassy eyes, wrinkled gullets, spiky feathers and mottled beaks portray a delicateness that seems fitting for a juvenile. This picture was taken just as the sun had dipped behind the mountain and the January air had become rapidly cold, casting gentle hues over these fascinating birds. AUTHOR
Since lockdown and the pandemic I have found photography a huge source of enjoyment. It has allowed me to tap into nature, be creative, walk miles and meet so many interesting people. I love the idea of capturing and sharing a moment in time. If it pops with colour, then all the better!
