The picture is of bunches of flowers in a street stand. Color, light, and compositional changes were used to manipulate the elements within the photograph as to more fully express the protean nature of their beauty, of that which surrounds them, and of all things. AUTHOR
Sam Rittenberg lives and works in New York City and the Dominican Republic. His primary interest is in the ability of a photograph to express the infinite and paradoxical interplay of destruction and creation. He is guided by the idea that every picture has the potential to be a portal to that which is ordinarily beyond us.
