This image shows the crystal formation of the amino acids B-alanine and L-glutamine. These crystals form when a solution of water and alcohol with these amino acids is carefully heated. With the help of polarization filters the crystals can be made visible. Magnification 5x with the help of a Laowa macrolens 2.5-5x. AUTHOR
Rob Blanken (1956) is a passionate nature photographer from the Netherlands. Rob has special interest in creative photography and has developed a distinctive style. He calls it Natural Art. Birds, insects and abstracts are his main interest. He wants to tell a story with his images and likes to work in projects. Rob lives in the countryside of Friesland, the Netherlands. He used to work as a dermatologist, a profession where good observation is very important. Rob’s work has been recognized in several photographic competitions.
