Emission
DESCRIPTION
With a long-term passion for animals that grew stronger through viewing, primarily, the various productions of Sir David Attenborough; starting with The Blue Planet and continuing over the years. This led me to become much more conscious of environmental issues from a young age and I began to focus on photographic series’ that revolved around the environment. I have been photographing architecture for some time now and know that construction is by far the biggest use of raw materials extracted from the earth, leading to the destruction of animal habitats, and produces massive quantities of waste. This led me to the consideration: how to portray the environmental impact of this industry within architectural photography? The aim of this series is to motivate individuals to consider where their energy and consumed resources come from, are manufactured, and the emissions created during their production. My hope is that, before we cause irreparable damage to our environment, we can reign in on the natural resources that are thoughtlessly extracted and consumed, and become more proactive in caring for our planet’s welfare.
