Part landscape, part architecture, this corner view of the door to the trading post gift store at Monument Valley offers a fresh perspective on a quintessentially western landscape. Although the room interior with flagstone floors and dark red window trim appears quiet and still, it was a captured in a brief moment between visitors either passing through the door or lingering on the outdoor patio to look at the view. The “open” sign in the window suggests that it is the landscape that is open and not the other way around. AUTHOR
