During the days leading up to the Formula E championship race held annually in Rome, the historic and architectural district of EUR transforms into a race circuit, featuring tracks, curves, chicanes, control towers, timing systems, camera gantries for filming, sponsor displays, and, most importantly, grandstands. These structures, where spectators will be seated, are composed of thousands of colorful seats that blend with the backdrop of the palaces in this futuristic neighborhood that was intended to host the Universal Exposition of Rome in the distant year of 1942.
This place, where I pass by every day on my way to work, transforms, buzzing with workers who construct a race track in just a few days, and in some unexpected spots, they unexpectedly transform it into incredible displays with vibrant color palettes.
