Water line
DESCRIPTION
Drought in the American Southwest and the increasing effects of climate change have caused the water levels at Hoover dam in Nevada to decline dramatically. The ring around the shoreline where the red rock becomes white - a color change that is the result of mineral deposits left by the water - is visual proof that the reservoir has dropped to a critically low level.
