DESCRIPTION
This image is inspired by the word "DREAM" and the eternal dream of trying to do something, but not quite being able to, for example never reaching a door before waking up. In this image, the flowers are on the outside of a glass panel, and the girl with the watering can is behind the glass, unable to water them. But because it's a dream, they are flowering anyway, in the most vibrant and beautiful colours. AUTHOR
I am a self-portrait photographer based in London, UK.My photographs are a means to express emotions and thus become a manifestation of my inner landscape. As these emotions are universal, my intent is for the photographs to evoke similar feelings, images or memories within the viewer, mirroring my own experiences but interpreted through their own lens.
As a self-portrait artist, I am not just the photographer but also the model, portraying characters that represent different facets of myself and at the same time of all human beings, since we all share the same emotional spectrum.
A big driving force behind my photographs is the quest for beauty – I always strive to turn emotional experiences into aesthetically pleasing images. My visual language is heavily influenced by classical painting, in particular the intense, poetic lighting of the Dutch Masters, as well as fashion photography, symbolism, dreams and words.
