DESCRIPTION
I captured this image on a cold morning in early October at Connery Pond, just outside of Lake Placid, New York. I arrived at the pond in total darkness and waded out into the pond for about 50 feet using my headlamp. Once there, I settled my tripod onto the bottom and waited patiently for sunrise. The cold temperature created a thick layer of fog on the pond, and the clouds above provided a beautiful sunrise that included Whiteface Mountain in the background. There was no breeze and the still surface of the pond also produced a wonderful reflection in the foreground.
