Seascape in Brittany
DESCRIPTION
The Atlantic coast in France, with its endless horizons and tranquility, has always been a source of inspiration. These are attempts to capture the essence and serenity of these unique places, blending realism and abstraction. These is an invitation to contemplation, where time seems to stand still, and humanity dissolves into the grandeur of nature. The series on oceanic landscapes elicit emotions through the combination of the real and the abstract. In some of the photographs, the fields of mysteriously deep colors created by nature recall the work of masters like Rothko. In others, the oceanic landscapes appear to spill beyond the confines of the photograph's frame, combining variations in the water's surface with more or less defined horizons, prompting questions about timelessness and evoking the works of Hiroshi Sugimoto AUTHOR
Based in Mulhouse, Alsace, Thierry Lavé has pursued his passion for photography since he was 18. Beginning with an interest in photographic techniques, Thierry has evolved his art to integrate abstract elements, lending a timeless poetic quality to his work. His images, often produced in fine art prints and Digigraphie, focus on capturing the transient emotions visible in people's eyes or in the essence of fleeting moments. His unique blend of realism and abstraction offers viewers a contemplative space where reality blurs with the dreamlike.Notable exhibitions include Basel in 2017 and Villa Seren in Hossegor in 2022. In 2021, his Hossegor photographs gained international recognition when showcased on Switzerland's Roche Tower for a major pharmaceutical company's 125th-anniversary celebration. Inspired by the serene Landaise coast, Thierry's ocean landscapes evoke deep emotions, occasionally reminiscent of renowned artists like Rothko and Hiroshi Sugimoto. Through his art, Thierry invites observers into a world of calm reflection, where nature's grandeur envelops humanity.
