Honorable Mention
A day at a time
DESCRIPTION
At a train station in Hungary, I met a homeless man, with nothing but a big warm blanket in his arms and a stick to support him. He was very friendly and started to talk to me while I was taking pictures of him. When I asked him where I could find him the next time to give him the photos, he responded: "Right here, dear. I'm here all day from 6:00 AM-10:00 PM."And though he said it with a laugh I could also see the hurt and resignation in his eyes as he pulled the blanket in his arms tighter to his chest.
AUTHOR
I live in a small Eastern European country, I am 34 years old and I write books, of which I have 12 published. I like all forms of art. I live in a small village in the countryside, giving me plenty of occasions to take pictures of the beautiful landscape. A couple of months ago I took part in a photography school, where I learned the basics of photography and the handling of a DSLR camera. Up until then I only took pictures (with my phone) of landscapes and nature. But the school I attended opened a door to a whole new world of opportunities, seeing shapes, forms, the streets, the people, etc. in a new and exciting light. I keep learning new and new things each time while taking pictures.
