DESCRIPTION
I was listening to Chappell Roan while setting up this still life. Her song, "Pink Pony Club" had me reflecting on what it's like living in a conservative town and feeling like you don't quite belong there. You can't dress how you want, act how you want, or be who you are without looking over your shoulder and wondering who's watching. The rook in this still life is just another Pink Pony Girl wishing she could come out.
