Honorable Mention
Here comes the bride
DESCRIPTION
On a Saturday morning, I saw a group of wedding guests trying to shelter from the Spanish autumnal sun while waiting for the bride. At the beginning, I noticed the warm light between the shadows, and the sensuality of movement which seemed to anticipate the union between the bride and the groom. But immediately afterwards, I was impressed by the image of this woman who burst with colours and light that empowered her, while the fairly anonymous man could only try to follow her in the shadow. AUTHOR
Giovanna Tonzanu is Italian, but she lives in Spain, where she teaches the Italian Language. She studied languages and literature, and this is the reason for her love for literature, poetry, and paintings. Her pictures try to tell a story, paint a scene, or create an atmosphere. In her photos, she tends to represent human beauty, bonds, loneliness, and social issues. She works on projects representing identity, time, places, and their mutual connection. Her last ongoing project, “And you shine, though", is about women and their struggle to be themselves in this society.
