Spent a few days in Costa Rica over New Year's 2022/2023. Without investigating too much about a good sunset photo spot that day and not having enough time to scout out the location just headed to Jacó Beach to see if I could find a seascape image anyway. Pretty much without high hopes and in my mind subconsciously already settling for plan B I ended up doing exactly that and shooting directly towards the sun and open sea. At least clouds and light were there. ;-)

While taking a few shots minutes apart to capture different light moods and playing around a bit with other settings I realized a surfer entering my scene. So I timed it and used him as an interest in my photo.

With the surfer's silhouette in the otherwise rather boring scene I think this image depicts the Costa Rican way of life "Pura Vida" in a fitting manner.
