DESCRIPTION
Four red deer photographed on the island of Jura (Scotland). At the summer, the woods of male deer are covered with a velvet, giving a soft aspect to these magnificent horns. AUTHOR
For Joel Fischer, in addition to an outlet, photography is his way of expressing his sensitivity and his personal look on nature.During childhood, photography is a way to show people places he visits and like but when his grand-father gives him his first automated camera, things change. Not only the camera and lens have a sentimental meaning for him, they also represent his first photography equipment which stimulates his motivation to go out and capture what catches his eyes.
Being in contact with people by helping them in emergency situation is a strong will for him. That’s why he chooses a job as an urgentist but this requires an outlet which he finds by walking in the forest close to Versoix (Switzerland). He meets a herd of deers and some harts. He needs to see more, to know more about them so he starts learning about their behavior to find them and observe them closer. Catching them with his camera becomes an almost daily need and a passion born.
10 years later, the technique is mastered and he looks for new challenges. He travels to Kenya in 2014 in the Massaï Mara and comes back dazzled and in love with the african savana.
With the support of his family and friends who expose some of his photos in their homes, he decides to share his work with the public. Soon he finds two places were he will expose in 2015!
In 2016, Joël became a member of the photography agency Biosphoto.
His wife, Stéphanie.
