Shutters Telling Stories
DESCRIPTION
This is a view of a residential island in Le Havre. These buildings were built after the Second World War in a standard grid of prefabricated components. Building material was scarce. In contrast to the concrete that is usually used, these buildings form colourful residential islands between the otherwise grey concrete buildings. The yellow shutters show that the flats are being used. AUTHOR
