SWADISTHANA
DESCRIPTION
Inspiration behind Swadisthana - The creation of Swadisthana was born from Sacred Geometry and the Yogic culture. The image was created by arranging 25 people into a shape that symbolizes the "Crescent Moon", which has been used in many traditions to depict the Sacral center or Chakra, the origin of life, creativity and sexuality.
The colors in the artwork are an effect of the different mineral deposits in the clay soil and the shapes that the water has made in its erosion process. A piece created straight with nature, combining a human, psychological and spiritual aspect.
About the Swadisthana project -
A sense of self is the beginning of pleasure and creativity. Creation, a place where time and space seem to stand still and energy starts to flow into total bliss and creative trance. Many who experienced this state are familiar with this as "being in the zone": a place where we can accept the process and embrace change instead of clinging to our notions of what the past or future should look like. A place where we can momentarily shut off our worrying minds and connect with our deeper selves and the process, create from the place we were once created.
This trance is something very precious for me and has been essential since I was a kid. It doesn't only provide a place to escape my own thoughts but also a safe space to explore and process my emotions, which tend to disappear and disconnect when I don't actively search for them.
