Broken Membrane
DESCRIPTION
'Broken Membrane' is part of a digital project that explores unique aspects of digital imaging that redefine tonalities and image textures at different scales. The photographic subjects, in this case the partially frozen surface of a stream, are modified with unconventional mappings from camera sensor values to perceptual effects. The resulting images reveal the dependence of our perceptions of reality on representational conventions that can be broken, leading to more mythopoeic and animistic visions. AUTHOR
