Echo Park in Los Angeles has a mysterious quality at night and I wanted to enhance it by exploring the in camera technique "painting with light" (long exposures in combination with the use of specialized flashlights). I was fortunate to have actress/author Faleena Hopkins model for me as she was able to use her emoting talents and hold a pose for long periods of time. I chose this specific location as I knew that the city lights, fountains and swirling electric swan boats reflecting in the water would have a special energy to the image.
