Honorable Mention
Above the Clouds: Mt. Hood
DESCRIPTION
That morning, we had a 3 a.m. wake-up call followed by a two-hour drive to reach Trillium Lake in Oregon. A good friend indulged me in this early-morning adventure! My mission was to capture sunrise with the towering Mt. Hood in the background, hopefully framed by a dramatic sky. As we arrived, clouds began rolling in. It was still dark, and I wasn’t sure if we’d even see the mountain. But as twilight broke, Mt. Hood appeared in glimpses, its peak fading in and out. With the spectacular cloud line in view, I set up for a long exposure to capture both the serenity and movement of the scene. The drama, the colors, and the reflections created captivating conditions. A shade of pink complemented the blue hour sky, our early efforts rewarded on this sensational Oregon morning. AUTHOR
