Honorable Mention
Gadaba Woman
DESCRIPTION
The traditional dress of the Gadaba includes very large earrings, and aluminum neck rings that weigh around 600 to 800 grams each. These rings can only be taken off by a blacksmith, and are usually removed only after death. This woman is one of only a few individuals remaining that practice these customs. AUTHOR
