Honorable Mention
Arabian Oryx
DESCRIPTION
Last November I went to the Middle East. I visited Dubai. I don't really like big cities, so when I had seen what I wanted to see, I started to escape the city. I explored the desert areas of the Emirates in search of interesting landscapes. I was also interested in the fauna.Once I went to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. I rented a car with a driver and we set off into the desert. I had already seen a few desert animals, but this time I was only interested in one. The Arabian Oryx. This is a mammal that lives in the Middle East. We passed several Oryxes in a herd, which of course I photographed, but I was missing something more.
Towards the end of the trip I was very lucky. I came across a lone Oryx standing on a sand dune. I immediately thought - this is it!
I ran out of the car and started taking pictures. Luckily for me, the Oryx stood still and posed beautifully. That's how this minimalist photo was created.
