Beauty in the Bad Water
DESCRIPTION
This cameraless image incorporates the toxic, heavy metal-filled water from the Berkeley Pit in Butte, Montana with chromogenic photographic materials to create a celestial-esque decay of both the physical material and the idea that Montana is the "Last Best Place", as outlined in the state motto. The larger series that this image is a part of is a study of the feminine figures and bight colors in the photos as much as it is a note on the environmental state of the United States, showcasing that even the most beautiful areas are capable of rot.
