Color Sequences
DESCRIPTION
The Color Sequences series was created in August 2024.I had the idea of turning colored foils, which normally form part of my photographic tools, into the creative content of my work.
This work is abstract, reminiscent of a graphic or painterly work. It is reduced, but leaves plenty of room for individual consideration.
A color foil is usually rectangular, about the size of a sheet of paper or slightly larger, flexible or relatively rigid.
For a long exposure, I move the foil manually, which is mounted on a tripod, for example, and at the same time I manually trigger the flash.
Due to the different thicknesses of the color foil, shapes are created in the movement that merge into one another due to the flashes, and in the case of two or more flashes, “Color Sequences” arise. So gradations of forms arise.
AUTHOR
I'm Tomy, I have Croatian roots, I live in Cologne and have been a freelance advertising photographer for 20 years now.I am a father of two wonderful daughters. In addition to photography, I also make music and am constantly expressing myself creatively.
When I was allowed to try out my father's Polaroid camera (SX70), I was fascinated from the first moment! That was at the end of the 80s, when I was around 9 years old. Only over time did I understand what a lasting impression this experience left on me. Basically, this was the beginning of my photography profession.
As a young adult, I continued to work intensively with photography, and the long exposure technique was a lasting inspiration for me.
