DESCRIPTION
My fascination with creating portraits in a dark, even noir, atmosphere comes from my early childhood, because since I was a child I have always been fascinated by fantastic and dark worlds, I try to create portraits that transport the viewer into another universe. I like to see my portraits as windows to imaginary worlds. From the darkness of the soul, a clarity can emerge that overwhelms me. Light that is too bright often dazzles, darkness magnifies it.
I like to capture these contrasts in my portraits, and ancient civilizations have always been one of my sources of inspiration. I want my portraits to appeal to people, so that they can see themselves in them and recognize themselves.
AUTHOR
Biography.My name is Cédric Brion.
Freelance photographer artist, I was born in 1978 in Belgium, in the suburbs of Mons, the city where I currently live.
As the visual arts have not always been of interest, I started to develop my taste for photography at 18. My first tool was a film camera, the pictures of which I developed in the darkness of my bedroom.
This is how, after several years of research and experience, I managed to approach the world of professional photography, thanks to various competitions and works carried out for the economic world ... and thanks, of course, to my companion, Catherine, who pushed me to embark on the adventure and who believed in me!
Motivation and vision of mind.
It was during trips to the United States, Norway, Iceland and Slovenia that I understood my deep taste for a strong, if sometimes hostile nature. I saw the attraction for these dark Nordic countries, for their history, their ancient stories and their legends, arose in me. And I need to immortalize what I'm feeling through my whole being.
This is how my fascination with creating landscapes and portraits was born in a dark atmosphere, even black ... because in the dark, I see the light; from the darkness of soul there can be a clarity that overwhelms me. Too bright light often dazzles, darkness magnifies it. I like to capture these contrasts.
Through my photos, I also try to reflect my taste for ancient traditions. The Celts, Vikings and other ancient civilizations are a source of inspiration to me.
I want my landscapes and my portraits to appeal, for everyone to be able to see themselves in them and identify with them.
