AUTHOR
I was born in Iran and have been living in Frankfurt am Main since 1986, where I studied Computer Engineering. From 1988 to 2000, I worked as a freelance graphic designer as well as a travel and press photographer for various publishers and agencies in Frankfurt and Munich. From 2000 to 2025, I worked as a User Interface Designer, including for SAP SE.
Photography has been central to my artistic practice for decades. I have participated in over 20 exhibitions, and several of my photo series have been recognized with awards.
Artist Statement:
In my current series, The Beautiful & the Fragile, I explore the paradoxical nature of plastics: their aesthetic appeal and versatility contrasted with their destructive impact on the environment, especially the oceans. Using stress optics, I reveal the internal tensions within plastic objects. By deforming the material and capturing it through macro photography and polarized light, I create intricate structures and vibrant colors that highlight both beauty and fragility.
The series is not only an aesthetic exploration but also a reflection on the pervasive presence of plastics in our ecosystem. My work aims to provoke awareness and encourage critical thinking about how we interact with these materials, highlighting the tension between human fascination and environmental responsibility.
