DESCRIPTION
“Blue, Sky, Brown Earth, Green Leaves” is an overlay of chipped green paint and a rusted sheet of iron. Select green chips were developed into leaf-like forms through blending and digital modeling. Light and manipulation were used to more fully explore the transformation of surface into symbol, echoing the ephemeral and protean nature of all things. AUTHOR
Sam Rittenberg lives and works in New York City and the Dominican Republic. His primary focus is on photography’s ability to explore the paradoxical interplay between the finite and the infinite. He is guided by the belief that every image holds the potential to serve as a portal to that which ordinarily lies beyond us.
