DESCRIPTION
This photograph, inspired by 19th-century aesthetics, portrays a bride dressed in shades of white, tulle and pearls. The symbolic halo above her head emphasizes the imposed ideal of purity and spiritualized femininity. The small notebook she holds alludes to an inner world confined by societal expectations. The work explores the theme of women’s submission to men during an era when marriage often meant the loss of personal autonomy. AUTHOR
