House of Stairs
DESCRIPTION
House of Stairs is a visual puzzle inspired by the illusion of space and perception, in the spirit of Maurits Cornelis Escher's work. Stairs, which usually lead in a specific direction, lose their meaning here—they become a loop in which reality is bent. Two figures, almost identical, seem to exist in parallel dimensions of the same house. Their symmetry and repetitiveness create tension between movement and stillness, between reality and reflection. Viewed from above, the frame draws the viewer into a geometric paradox – a place that seems familiar, yet defies logic. House of Stairs is a reflection on how space can become a metaphor for human consciousness – a labyrinth in which a person loses their sense of direction. AUTHOR
