Snow like flour in a timeless landscape
DESCRIPTION
Landscape of northern Italy, in Lombardy, in the Alps. Photo taken in February 2025, very early in the morning, from high up on a cable car. The cable car crosses over an untouched landscape of snow as fine as flour, blanketing mountains that appear like gentle hills. A pure white expanse, with the slightest variations in tone caused by the early hour of the day. No human presence to disturb the perfection of the snow cover, and absolute silence. In the distance, the peak of a mountain rises, with morning mist clouds slowly lifting before disappearing with the sun. AUTHOR
I am an amateur photographer, living in Rome and full-time employed as employee. I am 50 years old. I started taking photographs at the age of 20, after a short amateur course in photography and optimization of the use of light. Since then, for more than 30 years now, I have never stopped photographing the world around me.I travel to 5 continents and often to places not visited by tourism. I love photographing people, details, animals, landscapes. The common thread is always the subject's ability to convey emotions first and foremost to myself, and potentially to the observer of the photo. My shots carry with them more or less explicit meanings and I love to arouse reflections in those who observe them.
For about 5 years I have become a smart photographer (I only use my cell phone for photos). My images are usually not retouched, they do not follow classic patterns, and in choosing what and how to photograph I let myself be guided by instinct.
