Sculpted Landscapes: Wind, Water and Time in Southern Utah
DESCRIPTION
The Bentonite Hills – an otherworldly landscape of multicolored hills formed from soft bentonite clay. The banded layers result from varying mineral compositions - iron oxides create the reds and oranges, while manganese and other elements produce the blues and purples. These vast, undulating hills challenge our earthly norms, and are part of the Jurassic-age Morrison Formation
