Honorable Mention

Openness framed by roses
DESCRIPTION
The picture features Miyu, a Japanese model living in Berlin, captured during our first photo shoot together. Before the session, we agreed on a shared intention: to avoid cultural clichés and instead focus on her erotic charisma, presence, and expressive strength. Miyu, who often poses nude wearing a blonde wig, reclaims her image with self-awareness and elegance. In this picture, she sits on the backrest of a large armchair, her feet placed firmly on the cushion below. Her back leans against a wall covered in hundreds of multicolored roses - an unexpected and rich backdrop. Her pose - legs wide open - may be perceived as bold or even provocative. She is completely nude, but a large white scarf falls across her body, concealing her breasts and intimate area. Without this element, the picture might shift toward the explicit - but here, the scarf becomes a boundary, transforming the image into something more nuanced.
The wall of roses plays a quiet but decisive role: while her posture hints at raw seduction, the floral background introduces softness, sensuality, and a symbolic layer of beauty. It moves the picture away from the pornographic, situating it instead in a space of elegance and suggestion.
Miyu’s direct gaze meets the viewer, not as a confrontation but as an invitation to contemplate her beauty, her composure, and the scene she inhabits. The composition walks a deliberate line: it does not cross into pornography, yet it embraces the visual language of eroticism.
Rather than displaying the nude body as an object, the picture invites reflection on how form, gaze, and context shape our perception of the erotic.
AUTHOR
Eric is a French amateur photographer who is often considered an artist due to his international awards and his distinctive approach to nude photography. For over 20 years, he has explored the sensual beauty of the female form. Germany, Hungary, and Croatia are the main countries where he creates his art.His pictures have been printed in respected magazines, books, and catalogues from contests and exhibitions, and have also been shown in four exhibitions - both solo and group - highlighting his presence within the photography community. Eric’s artistic development has been shaped by collaborations and mentorships - from early technical training with German photographer Arboulan to a deepening artistic sensibility under Hungarian artists Szeni Jung and Sandor Benkoe, who continues to coach him.
Eric’s approach combines refined technique with emotional depth. While he has done a great deal of studio work in the past, he now prefers to shoot outdoors, embracing natural light. His style transcends conventional eroticism to feature models in stories and narratives that don’t focus on nudity, while both revealing and concealing their nude form.
Having worked with over 100 amateur models, Eric’s work is a passionate dialogue between artist and model, where sensuality and emotional truth meet. The best way to describe his passion is through the words of Richard Avedon: “If a day goes by without my doing something related to photography, it’s as though I’ve neglected something essential to my existence, as though I had forgotten to wake up.”
