Where I Almost Was
DESCRIPTION
This self-portrait explores a state of suspension between presence and disappearance, reflecting a moment of existential uncertainty. It visualizes the fragile space where identity becomes unstable, and the self loses its clear relation to reality. AUTHOR
Julia Wójciak is a visual artist and a graduate of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. She primarily works in the medium of photography, which she treats as a tool for self-reflection and personal documentation. In her practice, she explores themes of the body, presence, and identity, delving into subjects such as memory and femininity. Drawn to the ephemeral and intangible, she creates images that oscillate between documentary and staged introspection. For her, photography is a way of being in the moment—mindfully, intentionally, and with a sensitivity to what usually remains unseen.
